Balancing occupant wellness with energy efficiency and operational excellence against a rapidly changing landscape was a central focus of the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers' annual conference in Austin, Texas, this year, which wrapped up earlier this month.
In panels and seminars, HVAC engineers, service professionals, facility managers and others shared insight and heard the latest thinking on managing building operations, sustainability upgrades and indoor environmental quality against shifting federal policy priorities and a volatile geopolitical environment.
“Embrace the challenge,” ASHRAE President Sarah Maston said in the conference’s opening session. “Everyone needs to dig deep to meet the trials ahead.”
