Dive Brief:
- Trane Technologies announced the launch of a digital hub to help facility teams, building operators and energy managers interact with their buildings.
- The company says Trane Cloud unifies data from proprietary interfaces and fragmented dashboards to provide a foundation for enabling portfolio- and site-level visibility. Using the platform, facility managers can get insight for energy optimization and ask for recommendations for streamlining operations and decision-making, Trane said.
- “Building operators are flooded with data from their buildings and need a way to make sense of it all,” Riaz Raihan, senior vice president and chief digital officer of Trane Technologies, said in a statement. “Trane Cloud … serves as the entry point for the digital experience … by bringing everything together in one place to optimize performance.”
Dive Insight:
Trane says the cloud platform is designed for facility teams focused on efficient operations, building operators looking to boost long-term performance and energy managers working to reduce carbon emissions. More broadly, it’s applicable to any organization seeking consistent, data-driven oversight across their portfolios, the company says.
The platform hosts a number of applications providing autonomous controls, enhanced asset management and energy optimization. These applications include AI Control, ARIA AI for Building Management, Nuvolo Asset Management, Cloud Building Management System and Trane Maintenance Management, all of which are made by or owned by Trane.
AI Control and ARIA, for example, can reduce heating and cooling up to 25% and carbon emissions up to 40%, while making it easier for operators to troubleshoot maintenance issues, the company says.
Through use of the platform, clients were able to achieve notable improvements in these targets, including $10.2 million in energy cost savings by Emporia State University, a 13% energy reduction for Bullitt County Public Schools and 916 million tons of carbon dioxide reduction for Hyatt, according to Trane’s website.
Trane Cloud also combines technology with practical support through connected mechanical services, including 24/7 HVAC visibility and digital inspections, and connected building services that can help to control maintenance with expert insights, Trane said.
