For many years, commercial flush valves have followed the same basic approach to maintenance. When something goes wrong, maintenance personnel are required to identify the problem, determine which components need replacing, order the necessary parts, and spend time repairing the valve. Depending on the issue, this can also require shutting off the water supply and interrupting normal restroom operations.

The result of this question is simple: a patented electronic flush valve system built around one fully replaceable cartridge containing the entire valving system, electronics, and batteries.
When service is needed, maintenance personnel simply remove the existing cartridge and install a new one. The maintenance personnel can ship the used cartridge back to the MAC Faucets warehouse for a rebate on the replacement cartridge. The entire process takes under two minutes and does not require shutting off the water; this way the flush valve returns to like-new-operating conditions
