Mobile Concepts, Inc., doing business as U.S. Mobile Kitchens, is pleased to announce the acquisition of Mobile Kitchens Canada, Inc., the leading provider of temporary and mobile kitchen solutions throughout Canada. The acquisition represents a significant milestone in the continued growth of both organizations and further strengthens their ability to serve customers across North America.
As part of the acquisition, Mobile Kitchens Canada will continue operating under its established name and brand. All current employees will remain with the company and will play an integral role in its future growth and success. John Innes will be at the helm of the Canadian operation in Inverary, Ontario as the company’s Regional Manager working directly with department heads from Mobile Concepts’ headquarters in Maryland. Customers can expect the same high level of service, expertise, and commitment that has made Mobile Kitchens Canada a trusted partner for organizations across Canada.
Mobile Concepts, Inc. is a family-owned business led by the Leatherwood family. Officially established in 2010 by Cris and Doreen Leatherwood, the company began operations from its headquarters in Maryland, providing mobile kitchen and support solutions to customers throughout the United States. Over the past decade and a half, the company has expanded its national footprint with additional facilities in North Carolina, Texas, and California, enabling rapid response and comprehensive service capabilities across the country. Today, U.S. Mobile Kitchens is recognized as one of North America's leading providers of temporary foodservice infrastructure, supporting major events, disaster relief operations, military installations, healthcare facilities, educational institutions, correctional facilities, and commercial foodservice clients.
Mobile Kitchens Canada traces its roots to entrepreneur David Craig, who first built a successful catering business, Catering By Craig, in Ontario. About midway through his 42 years career serving large-scale foodservice operations, Craig recognized the growing need for reliable temporary kitchen solutions and established Mobile Kitchens Canada around 2004 and began serving the US with American Mobile Kitchens in 2006. What began with a few small mobile kitchens for film productions and renovation projects quickly expanded after strong market demand confirmed the need for larger, more specialized units. Today, Mobile Kitchens Canada, Inc. is Canada’s premier full-service mobile kitchen manufacturing and rental company, providing mobile kitchen, warewashing, preparation, and refrigeration units, along with logistics and project management services. Under Craig's leadership, the company earned a reputation for quality equipment, responsive service, and strong customer relationships and has continually fine-tuned its units with advancements and features recommended by project managers and chefs. Mr. Craig will continue to consult for and assist the company in its operations across North America.
Looking ahead, the combined organization is well-positioned for continued expansion and innovation under the leadership of the Leatherwood family with a focus on investing in people, equipment, facilities, and infrastructure to meet the evolving needs of customers throughout North America. With a growing fleet, expanded geographic reach, and an experienced team on both sides of the border, the future is exceptionally bright for Mobile Concepts, U.S. Mobile Kitchens, and Mobile Kitchens Canada as they work together to deliver industry-leading solutions for years to come.
